TAPPI, the leading association for the worldwide pulp, paper, packaging and converting industries, announced the recipients of the 2015 NET (Nonwovens, Engineers, and Technologists) Division Technical and Leadership and Service Awards. Jeff Haggard of Hills, Inc., was named the recipient of the NET Division Technical Award and Mark Hollingsworth Prize. The award recognizes Haggard’s outstanding contributions, which have advanced the industry’s technology. “This award represents the more than 40 years I’ve diligently pursued innovation,” says Haggard. “I am honored that my hard work and dedication is being recognized.” Haggard graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently vice president of technology at Hills, Inc., a position he has held for 26 years. The NET Division Leadership and Service Award and Dow Chemical Company Prize recipient is Maureen Nunn of Dow. This award recognizes Nunn’s outstanding leadership and exceptional service, which has resulted in significant and demonstrable benefits to NET Division members. “I am flattered to receive this honor,” says Nunn. “I enjoy my involvement with the TAPPI community as chairperson of the TAPPI Binders and Additives Committee and vice-chair of TAPPI NET Steering Committee and am grateful to have my participation recognized.” Nunn is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a graduate degree from Georgetown in Organic Chemistry. She has over 30 years in product development in a large number of applications such as automotive finishes, pulp and paper, water treatment, adhesives, and textile nonwovens. Maureen is currently the primary point of contact for Dow North America in the Textile Nonwovens application. TAPPI will honor Haggard and Nunn at the PaperCon Awards Dinner on April 21 in Atlanta.
